The Council of Europe is the continent leading human rights organization.

47 states have signed  European convection of Humans Rights. A treaty created to protect humans rights, democracy and to apply the rule of law.

 

It defends freedom of expression, and of the media, freedom of assembly, equality, and the protection of national minorities. It also helps member states to fight corruption and terrorism.
